Fanni Niemi-Junkola (1962) is an artist based in Tampere, Finland. Graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1995 (MFA). Video installations and short films have been shown in Finland and internationally i.e. Tracking Traces…, Kiasma, Helsinki (2009); Selbstauslöser, Kunsthalle Fridericianum, Kassel (2006); Under Your Skin, White Box, New York (2005), 3rd Berlin Biennial (2004); Organising Freedom -nordisk 90-talskonst, Moderna Museet, Stockholm (2000); Manifesta 2, European Biennial of Contemporary Art (1998), Luxembourg and This side of the Ocean, Kiasma, Helsinki (1998). Previously a professor of dep. of Time and Space at the Academy of Fine Arts, Helsinki in 2001-2002. Currently appointed as a Senior Lecturer in Tampere University of Applied Sciences, dep. of Fine Art. |
